Biography:
Curve Cuts: Third Professional Season. Won the Bob Feller Award as the Iowa High School Pitcher of the Year in 2003. Threw three no-hitters and compiled an Iowa state record 0.10 ERA in 2003. Was named to the Cape Cod League All-Star team in 2006
2008 Season: Won three straight starts from April 25-May 5 with the Lynchburg Hillcats (Advanced-A) where he spent the entire season.. Registered an ERA of 3.56 or lower in every month except May. Limited left-handed hitters to a.214 average. Had an impressive 1.86 ERA in five day game starts with Lynchburg. Posted a 3-4 record with a 2.90 ERA in 12 starts after the All-Star break. Tossed seven no-hit innings while walking two and striking out eight in a win @ Potomac on 7/19. Registered a no-decision vs. Myrtle Beach on 8/9 despite throwing six shutout innings. Notched victories in his last two starts of the season, allowing a combined two runs (one earned) on just three hits over 14.0 innings of work
2007 Season: Split the season between the State College Spikes (Short Season – A) and Hickory Crawdads (A). Made his professional debut @ Williamsport on 6/21, getting a no-decision despite allowing no runs on no hits with nine strikeouts over 5.0 innings of work. Won six straight starts from June 26-July 25, posting a 1.46 ERA (7ER in 33.2IP) during the stretch. Picked up his lone loss with State College on 7/30 @ Mahoning Valley (5IP 2ER 6H 0W 4K). Named to the New York-Penn All-Star team which would be his last appearance in a Spikes uniform.. Was promoted to Low-A Hickory on and made his final three starts of the ‘07 season in the South Atlantic League. Picked up his lone win with Hickory on 8/28 vs. Asheville, tossing 6.0 shutout innings
