Curve Cuts: 7th professional season. Signed as a seventeen year old. Has appeared in 70 games or more just one time in his professional career. Played the first two years of his career with the Pirates Dominican Summer League team
2008 Season: Started the season with High-A Lynchburg. Began the year as a switch-hitter, but batted exclusively as a left-handed hitter in early June at Lynchburg. Posted four hits (4-for-6) on 5/29 vs. Potomac. Hit.500 (13-for-26) during a six-game hitting streak from 6/4-9. Went 4-for-5, hit his first home run and scored three runs in a Lynchburg 5-4 win @ Salem on 6/7. Had a three game stretch where he hit.643 (9-for-14) from 6/7-9. Went 3-for-5 with a homer and three RBI @ Frederick on 7/16. Promoted to Double-A Altoona on 7/20. Hit safely in his first six games (8-for-20.400) with the Curve. Led off the nightcap of a doubleheader on 7/26 @ Harrisburg with his first Double-A home run. Missed the final week of the season with an injured left wrist suffered on 8/24 vs. New Hampshire
2007 Season: Began the year in Low-A Hickory. Had 18 multi-hit games in 53 games played with the Crawdads. Hit.382 at home for Hickory. Compiled a.316 average vs. SAL left-handed pitching. Started the year by going on an nine-game hitting streak (14-for-39.359) from 4/5-13. Had three straight two hit games from 4/27-29. Got a hit in a season-high thirteen straight games (20-for-57.351) from 5/22-6/5. Promoted to High-A Lynchburg on 6/8. Got three hits @ Kinston on 6/12 in just his third game in the Carolina League. Went on a five-game hitting streak (10-for-24.417) from 7/28-8/1. Recorded a ten-game hitting streak (13-for-43.302) from 8/7-16
2006 Season: Spent the year at Short-A Williamsport. Recorded 20 multi-hit games in 65 games played with the Crosscutters. Had back-to-back two hit games on 6/21-22. Went on a seven-game hitting streak (9-for-25.360) from 6/29-7/7. Put together a season-high eight-game hitting streak (10-for-31.323) from 7/10-19. Hit just.223 for the month of July. Was named the NY/Penn League Player of the Week for the week of August 7-13 (13-for-29.448). Compiled a seven-game hitting streak (13-for-28.464) from 8/23-30
2005 Season: Limited to just 19 games with the Gulf Coast League Pirates. Had three hits in a 3-for-7 game @ Red Sox on 6/25. Went 2-for-5 with a triple and two RBI vs. Twins on 7/7. Hit his first home run in America (solo shot) vs. Twins on 7/21.
