Biography:
Curve Cuts: Fourth professional season. Named first-team All-State in his senior year at Martin County (FL) HS (5-1 0.51 ERA 86K/54.0IP). Played three seasons with Florida Atlantic University, going 12-10 with a 5.69 ERA in 64 games (22 starts). Pitched for the Bourne Braves in the Cape Cod League during the summer of 2005
2008 Season: Pitched 6.0 perfect innings in his first start of the season before allowing three runs on no hits in the seventh inning in a win @ Frederick on 4/6 (6.1IP 3R 3ER 0H 2W 2K 1HBP). Went 3-2 with a 3.76 ERA in five April starts. Did not allow an earned run in two starts (10.0 innings) on 4/27 and 5/2. Was the winning pitcher @ Salem on 6/8 (6.2 IP 1R 1ER 2H 0W 4K). Allowed 10 runs (nine earned) in 1.0 inning of work @ Kinston on 6/19. Pitched seven shutout innings @ Wilmington on 7/1 (7.0 IP 0R 3H 0W 2K). 2007 Season: Started the year with three straight no-decisions for Low-A Hickory. Pitched 5.0 perfect innings before allowing a run on two hits in the sixth inning for his first win of the season @ Greensboro on 4/28 (6.0IP 1R 1ER 2H 0W 7K). Had a no-hitter through 7.1 innings of work on 5/21 vs. Kannapolis, but got a no-decision after allowing two unearned runs on one hit over 7.2 innings. Suffered his last loss of the season on 6/11 vs. West Virginia (7.0IP 2R 2ER 9H 1W 4K). Yielded a season high 16 hits over 4.2 innings in a no decision @ Asheville on 6/29. Made a spot-start for Double-A Altoona @ Trenton on 7/4 (L 2.2IP 7R 3ER 6H 2W 0K), becoming the first player of the Bucs 2006 draft class to reach Double-A. Won seven of his next eight starts with Hickory from 7/9-8/18 (11ER/44.0IP 2.25 ERA). Named SAL Pitcher of the Week for the week of 8/6 (2-0 12.0IP 1R 6H 2W 7K). Started Game One of the best-of-three SAL Divisional Playoff round on 9/5 vs. West Virginia and took the loss, allowing seven runs on 10 hits over 4.0 innings of work in a 12-2 loss
2006 Season: Made his professional debut @ Mahoning Valley on 6/23 (3.0IP 1R 1ER 5H 0W 3K in relief). Made his first start vs. Auburn in the night-cap of a doubleheader on 6/28 (ND 1.1IP 0R 0H 0W 2K). Picked up his only win with Williamsport on 7/31 @ Jamestown (5.1IP 0R 2H 2W 5K). Walked just four batters in 43.2 innings of work with Williamsport. Promoted to Low-A Hickory, making his first start on 8/15 @ West Virginia (ND 4.1IP 6R 6ER 11H 0W 1K). Allowed a run over 7.0 innings of work vs. Greensboro on 8/20 for his only win./Hickory
